This book provides an analysis of the two major a posteriori proofs for the existence of God, the cosmological and the teleological arguments. Part I deals with: 1) the classical statements of the cosmological argument by Plato, Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas; 2) the classical criticisms of the cosmological argument by David Hume and Immanuel Kant; 3) a revised version of the argument by Joe Mixie; and 4) responses to the classical criticisms focusing on the first cause and God.
